General FAQs
What is the best way to contact you about a project?
The best way to contact us is to fill out this contact form directly. Alternatively, you can book in a discovery call to see if we would be a good fit for each other.
What if I’m not sure what service I need?
That’s okay, that’s why we’re here! We’ll discuss your goals in our initial free 15 minute chat, and then we’ll put together a plan of attack with you.
How do your payment terms work?
For one-off projects, we take a 50% deposit to book in your start date, and 50% on finalisation. Ongoing work is invoiced in monthly payments, unless otherwise agreed upon. We'll outline your exact payment terms on your proposal when you get started with us.
Do you offer payment plans?
Payments for projects are divided into two parts. The first part is a non-refundable deposit of 50%, which must be paid in advance to secure your booking.
The remaining 50% can be paid either on the final date of the project or when the project is completed, whichever occurs first.
For website projects, I do also offer a payment plan in 4 payments (30% non-refundable deposit, and the remaining 70% deposit paid across 4 payments), beginning a month after your deposit is paid.
Is the deposit refundable?
All deposits are non-refundable as they serve to reserve your place in my project queue. Projects are scheduled in advance to ensure that I can give each client the necessary time and attention for a successful project. When a slot is reserved for a client, I may have to turn away other potential projects. The non-refundable deposit helps to ensure that clients are committed to moving forward with the project and helps to prevent empty slots in the schedule.
What amount of revisions or changes are included in your packages?
We go through an in-depth brand questionnaire and briefing process before I begin designing websites so in most cases, 2 refinements are more than enough. However, if for some reasons you desire more changes to be made, we can do so at the current hourly rate. Further changes will be agreed upon through written communication before any further work is carried out.
What if my business isn’t making enough money? Do you take on clients whose work you are passionate about?
We’ll be very honest with you… Yes. We do, from time to time, take on passion clients who are working for charitable and community-oriented causes. We strongly believe that good things come from good actions done by good people. If you are in need of a digital strategy consult, a website, or other digital marketing advice for your charitable organisation, please do reach out through the contact form and we will see if we are a match.
Website FAQs
What do I need to begin a Website Design Project?
Product-based business (ecomm): You will need written copy for your products and about your Brand, policies for shipping, Terms and Conditions, and refunds, professional product and Brand photography alongside a Brand Identity.
Service-based business: You will need written copy about your business, service offerings, you as the owner (where applicable), policies and t&c's. You will also need to provide professional imagery (we are reluctant to work solely with stock images as these can appear inauthentic).
Without the above, it is very difficult to craft a functional and aesthetically pleasing website, and in most cases we will decline to work with you on your project until these assets are available or in the pipeline.
Do you maintain my website?
Currently we do not offer 'maintenance' services, however in most cases given we use either Wix or Squarespace as your website platforms. These require relatively little to no 'maintenance’ in the classical sense of the word (unlike Wordpress). However, we do recommend a three-monthly review of your SEO best practices, as the SEO world does change often enough to require more constant attention.
How long (roughly) does a Website take to be finished?
Anywhere from 3-4 weeks from planning stage to launch stage. That is, of course, if you have all the required assets to begin the design process. It will take longer if we need to wait for your photographs and other brand materials to be sent through.
Is hosting or domains included in my package?
No, these are to be arranged prior to our project commencement. I am happy to provide advice and assistance on where and how to finalise this before we begin as the process is relatively simple.
Can you help with adding more products/updating pages or making changes to my site once live?
Absolutely! For anything smaller, we can help out at our current hourly rate. For any bigger changes, please get in touch and I can provide you with a quote.
Do you design on other Platforms?
At this stage, I design mostly on Squarespace. In some instances I will design on Wix, Shopify, however I prefer Squarespace from a growth and usability point of view. I do not design on Wordpress, as I believe that their plugins go against SEO best practices, which go against my professional ethos.
